A state-of-the-art health research facility
A state-of-the-art health research facility
The Lang Walker AO Medical Research Building – Macarthur is a collaboration between Western Sydney University, South Western Sydney Local Health District, the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research, UNSW Sydney, and Walker Corporation. The health research facility will respond to the health needs of the local and broader community. It will provide educational and employment opportunities in the heart of the Campbelltown Health and Education Precinct.
The Lang Walker AO Medical Research Building – Macarthur will provide a co-located medical research centre to facilitate scientific, clinical and industry collaboration.
The medical research facility will deliver world-class research and improved health outcomes for the Macarthur region and the wider community. The facility will focus on five research themes relevant to the southwestern Sydney population: mental health, diabetes and obesity, paediatrics and adolescent health, Indigenous health, and addiction medicine.
Significant progress has been made following the completion of the concrete structure, with the façade installation and internal services rough-ins now underway. The upcoming focus will be on making the building watertight by completing the façade, which will allow the final fitout works to progress. External landscaping will be also carried out concurrently.
